Interested in joining a 4x4 club?

The Mountaineers are a family oriented club, organized in 1965, to promote and enjoy the recreation of four wheeling. Four wheeling involves driving a four wheel drive vehicle on roads and trails which are impassable to normal street vehicles. It's often referred to as " off-roading ," but in most cases we use marked "roads" in order to protect the areas through which we travel. occasionally we play "off-road" on designated sand dunes or ice where it is a bit tough to "stay on the trail" since there is none.

Unlike the images portrayed by mass media and environmental groups, we are concerned with conserving the natural beauty of the State of Colorado and anywhere we four wheel. We believe strongly in the principles of Tread Lightly! We also participate in both the Adopt-a-Trail and the Adopt-A-Highway programs. We work closely with the US Forest Service in maintaining trails, many of our members participate in the Trail Host program. We assist our community, Fort Collins, Colorado, by providing transportation during severe winter weather for employees and some patients of "critical need" groups like Poudre Valley Hospital, Good Samaritan Retirement Village and Meals-On-Wheels and by assisting groups like the American Red Cross and the Salvation Army in transporting supplies and the like to and from remote areas during crises.

Auto Show Visitors Impressed by Jeep Rubicon


The 2010 Jeep Rubicon is making an impression on visitors to the 2010 Chicago Auto Show. John Dugan of Time Out Chicago had this to say about his Rubicon experience:

"As convention center experiences go, taking a ride in the Jeep Rubicon is up there with seeing Radiohead. Definitely get in the line for this one. The jungle-ready Rubicon has also kinds of insane drive train features and clearance that enable it to climb hills and descend them (with no brakes applied) and drive tightly at crazy angles. I don’t know the technical terms but I kept saying “whoah” and “wow” as the trained pro led us around the obstacle course."

Jeep Patriot Models Wins Top Safety Pick From IIHS

The 2010 Jeep Patriot with optional side torso airbags won a Top Safety Pick honor for 2010. Top Safety Picks are chosen by the Insurance Institute For Highway Safety. Chrysler Sets Corporate Policy on Texting While Driving

1) Chrysler takes a stance on texting and driving as it relates to company-owned vehicles and hand held communication devices.
2) The company pioneered automotive hands-free cell phone systems and supports the use of hands-free phone operation.
3) Chrysler group will offer text-to-voice/message reader technology 2011 Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram vehicles.

Chrysler Group LLC today became the first automaker to establish a corporate policy surrounding company-owned vehicles and communication devices. The company now prohibits texting while driving in order to promote safer driving behaviors and serve as an industry example. The new policy applies to texting while driving company-owned vehicles and texting with company-provided communication devices while driving personal vehicles.

The Chrysler Group values the safety and well-being of employees, customers and communities, said Nancy Rae, Executive Vice President - Human Resources, Chrysler Group LLC. As an automaker, we expect higher driving standards from our work force and business partners as we design products and technology that bring greater levels of safety to our customers and their families.

The company's new texting while driving policy will take effect immediately.

Demand for Remote Start Increases 20 Percent at Chrysler Group LLC

Drivers, remote-start your engines!

More and more Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram customers are adding the ultra-convenient Remote Start feature to their vehicles. In 2009, Mopar sales for Remote Start are up 20 percent. Nearly 90 percent of Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram vehicles are available with Remote Start.

Those customers who want to add the feature after purchase, or who buy a used vehicle without Remote Start, will turn to Mopar for the feature. "Remote Start is becoming less of a luxury and more of a necessity," said Pietro Gorlier, President and Chief Executive Officer, Mopar Service, Parts and Customer Care. "As we head into winter and the holiday gift-giving season, we expect even more of our customers to warm up to Remote Start."

Drivers with Remote Start may start their vehicle from up to 300 feet away, allowing the engine to warm up and the interior of the vehicle to heat or cool based on the pre-set temperature. The engine will stay on for 10 minutes and will shut off if a key is not inserted into the ignition. Unlike other aftermarket offerings, Mopar's Remote Start system utilizes proven, quality-tested factory components and is seamlessly integrated into the vehicle without any splicing or cutting of existing wires. In addition, Mopar integrates and combines the function into one key fob, eliminating the need for excess fobs.

Remote Start is fully covered under the vehicle's bumper-to-bumper new-vehicle warranty or Mopar's 12-month/12,000-mile limited warranty, whichever is most advantageous to the customer. Remote Start is available on 2008-2010 model-year Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram vehicles. Depending on the vehicle, the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) ranges from $235 to $299, plus installation. The installation process takes approximately one hour and may be done at any Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and Ram store.

New Power Train Limited Warranty Driven by Voice of the Customer

Chrysler has discontinued its Lifetime Powertrain Warranty in exchange for the new 2010 5-year/100,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty. The new warranty is a no hassle solution and will offer the owner superior options that were previously excluded from Lifetime. Benefits of the new warranty include subsequent owner coverage transfer at no cost, towing, and elimination of the 5-year powertrain inspection requirement. Chrysler responded to the voice of customers and modified coverage to be competitive with those automakers perceived to have the best warranties in the business. This change is representative of Chrysler's commitment to quality and the confidence and consideration for customers. Chrysler anticipates the change will promote a greater value to the customer and the benefits realized will increase loyalty to the brands.

Duration: 5 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first

Simple Steps Owners Can Take to Prepare Their Vehicles For Winter

1) Check tire pressure: Tire pressure can fluctuate with temperature changes. If the vehicle is not equipped with a tire-pressure monitoring system, check on or near the driver's side door for the correct pressure. Properly inflated tires can improve fuel economy by 3.3 percent!

2) Inspect wiper blades: Streaking, limited visibility, blade tearing or noisy wiper blade operation are the tell-tale signs that wipers need replacing.

3) Prepare for snow removal: Put snow scrapers and brushes in the vehicle before the first snow of the season.

4) Pack an emergency kit: Drivers can prepare their own or purchase a safety kit from Mopar that includes a safety flashlight, fleece blanket, six-gauge jumper cables, safety triangle, screwdrivers, pliers, two bungee cords and gloves. Mopar kits are currently available in Pollard Motor's parts department.

Preventitive Car Care Tips

Tough economic times might tempt vehicle owners to delay seemingly minor service and repairs. But saving a few dollars today can be very costly in the long run. For example, replacing a dirty air filter can cost as little as $15. But if a dirty air filter prevents the engine from getting enough air, spark plugs can fail. Replacing the spark plugs is a significantly more expensive repair costing up to $300, depending on the engine.

Starting Jan. 9Th we will be extending our Service Department and Express Lane hours. The new hours are: Monday-Friday 7:30am-5:30pm and Saturday 9:00am-3:00pm. Our express lane is great for quick oil changes and more!

Express Lane includes:

  • Tire Rotation with Brake Inspection
  • Multi-Point Inspection
  • Wiper blade Replacement, Air Filter Replacement, Bulb and Battery Replacement
